Percy Priest Lake is lined by Army Core of Engineers property so there isn't waterfront available for building but there are many marinas, a water park and state parks for all to enjoy. Mt. Juliet is home to Country-Rock stars Lucinda Williams and Charlie Daniels. Named for a castle in Kilkenny, Ireland, This independent incorporated city is connected to Nashville via the I-40 expressway, and by the Music City Star light-rail service. Mt. Juliet is currently undergoing a tremendous phase of economic growth, and jobs are plentiful here. The city also has two public parks, one of which is named for Charlie Daniels himself. Two separate lakes and the existence of one of Tennessee’s largest little league organizations means residents are never at a loss for things to do. Mt. Juliet is located just 14 miles east of downtown Nashville. The cost of housing in Mount Juliet has increased with each successive wave of growth.
